I began to think.., Rupesin ajattelemaan

I began.

Because I have not much time left,
I began to think.
I began to think a lot
and I wanted to write down what I think,
so that others would know that I think.
But that 'lot' should be tightened.
I remembered that poets can do it.
I asked my wife to bring poem books
from the library for me to study
and she brought me nine poem books.
I noticed that poetry had become tight:
One of my old einoleinos was thicker
than all these nine new together.
That must be tightening of saying!
On the other hand I noticed that
many of those poems were
only one sentence but it however
filled the whole page as in:

"man is mushroom born in tree".

I do not understand what is tightened there,
and I do not understand why that tightening
is expanded to fill the whole page.
I just do not understand
even though I began to think.
Best to stop in time.

Minä rupesin.

Kun minulla ei ole enää paljon aikaa,
rupesin ajattelemaan.
Rupesin ajattelemaan paljon
ja halusin kirjoittaa, mitä ajattelen,
jotta muutkin tietäisivät,
että ajattelen.
Mutta paljous pitäisi tiivistää.
Muistin, että runoilijat osaavat tehdä niin.
Pyysin vaimoani tuomaan kirjastosta
runokirjoja opikseni ja hän toi
yhdeksän runoteosta.
Huomasin, että runous on tiivistynyt:
Yksi vanha einoleinoni oli paksumpi
kuin nämä yhdeksän uutta yhteensä.
Se on jo sanomisen tiivistystä!
Toisaalta huomasin, että moni runo
oli vain yksi lause, mutta täytti silti koko sivun.
Kuten:
"ihminen on puussa syntynyt sieni".
Minä en ymmärrä, mitä siinä on tiivistetty,
enkä minä ymmärrä, miksi se tiivistys
oli lavennettu täyttämään koko sivun.
En minä vaan ymmärrä, vaikka rupesin
ajattelemaan.
Paras lopettaa ajoissa.
